5 DAY DEVOTIONALS
Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on the themes from Pastor Scott's sermon on March 30,2025:
Day 1: Soaring with God's Love
Reading: Isaiah 40:28-31
Devotional: Just as eagles soar effortlessly on thermal currents, God invites us to rise above life's challenges through His love. Isaiah reminds us that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. Today, reflect on areas where you feel weary or faint. How might trusting in God's love give you new perspective and energy? Consider how you can "mount up with wings like eagles" in your faith journey. Pray for God to renew your strength and help you soar above your circumstances.
Day 2: Called to Draw Others to Christ
Reading: Mark 2:13-17
Devotional: Jesus' interaction with Levi demonstrates His heart for all people, especially those society deems unworthy. As followers of Christ, we're called to have the same inclusive love. Who in your life might be considered an "outsider" that needs Christ's love? How can you reach out to them this week? Reflect on your own journey - how has Christ's acceptance changed you? Ask God to give you His eyes to see the worth in every person you encounter today.
Day 3: Grace, Not Works
Reading: Ephesians 2:8-10
Devotional: Our salvation and calling come through God's grace, not our own efforts. This liberating truth frees us from the burden of trying to earn God's favor. Consider areas in your life where you might be relying on your own works rather than God's grace. How does embracing grace change your approach to serving God and others? Thank God for His unmerited favor and ask Him to help you live in the freedom of His grace today.
Day 4: Freedom in Christ
Reading: Galatians 5:1, 13-15
Devotional: Christ has set us free from legalism and man-made religious rules. However, this freedom isn't a license for self-indulgence, but an opportunity to serve others in love. Reflect on ways you might be imposing unnecessary rules on yourself or others in your faith walk. How can you use your freedom in Christ to love and serve those around you more effectively? Ask God to help you walk in the balance of freedom and responsibility.
Day 5: Boldness in Proclaiming the Gospel
Reading: Acts 4:18-20
Devotional: Peter and John's boldness in the face of opposition challenges us to be courageous in sharing our faith. In a world that often wants to silence the message of Christ, we're called to speak up. What fears or hesitations do you have about sharing your faith? How might remembering God's presence and power help you overcome these? Pray for opportunities to share Christ's love today and for the courage to seize them when they come.
