5 DAY DEVOTIONALS
Here's a 5-day Bible reading plan and devotional guide based on the themes presented in the Sunday Morning Sermon March 9, 2025.
Day 1: Proclaiming the Good News
Reading: Mark 1:14-20
Devotional: Jesus began His ministry by proclaiming the good news of God's kingdom. Like the disciples who immediately left their nets to follow Him, we too are called to respond with urgency to God's call. Today, reflect on how you can boldly share the gospel in your daily life. Are there areas where you've been hesitant or silent? Ask God for the courage to speak His truth and the wisdom to do so with love and grace. Remember, the message we carry is not our own, but the life-changing good news of Jesus Christ.
Day 2: Walking in the Light
Reading: 1 John 1:5-10
Devotional: John reminds us that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. As followers of Christ, we're called to walk in that light, living lives of transparency and truth. Today, examine your heart. Are there areas of darkness you've been hiding or ignoring? Confess these to God, knowing that He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Embrace the freedom that comes from living in the light, and seek to reflect God's truth and purity in all your interactions today.
Day 3: The Power of God's Love
Reading: Luke 15:1-7
Devotional: The parable of the lost sheep beautifully illustrates God's relentless love for each of us. Just as the shepherd leaves the 99 to find the one, God pursues us with an unfailing love. Today, meditate on the depth of God's love for you personally. How does knowing you are so deeply valued by God impact your self-worth and your interactions with others? Look for opportunities to extend this same kind of seeking, sacrificial love to someone in your life who may feel lost or overlooked.
Day 4: Denying Self and Following Christ
Reading: Luke 9:23-26
Devotional: Jesus calls us to a radical discipleship - denying ourselves, taking up our cross daily, and following Him. This isn't a one-time decision but a daily commitment to put Christ first in every aspect of our lives. Today, consider what it means to "deny yourself" in your current circumstances. What desires, plans, or comforts might God be asking you to lay down in order to follow Him more fully? Pray for the strength and willingness to embrace this path of self-denial, trusting that true life is found in losing ourselves for Christ's sake.
Day 5: God's Presence in Our Struggles
Reading: Romans 8:35-39
Devotional: Paul's powerful words remind us that nothing can separate us from God's love - not trouble, hardship, persecution, or even death itself. In a world full of challenges and suffering, this truth anchors our souls. Today, reflect on a difficult situation you're facing. How might embracing the reality of God's unshakeable love change your perspective on this struggle? Allow the assurance of His constant presence to fill you with hope and courage. Remember, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
